Is the league only for experienced players?
No! We offer divisions for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players. Whether you're just starting out or have been playing for years, there's a place for you.

How do I register for the league?
For individual/free agent/subs, you can register online through our website. For team registration, a team captain will submit the registration form and then each individual player will need to register.

Do I need my own equipment?
Yes, players are required to have their own equipment, including skates, helmet, pads, gloves, and stick. If you need equipment, we can provide information on where to purchase or rent.

League Structure

What are the different divisions or levels in the league?
We offer several divisions to accommodate various skill levels, including:

Foundations Division: For beginners or new players, the teams in this division will have a coach assigned.

Competitive Division: For players with moderate to advanced skills looking for more competitive play

Elite Division: For experienced and highly skilled players aiming for high-performance games

How are teams formed?
Teams can be formed through registration by a team captain, or players can sign up individually and be placed on teams. We try to ensure fair team placement based on skill level to promote balanced competition.

How often do games take place?
Games typically take place once a week.

Gameplay and Rules

What are the game rules?
The league follows standard hockey rules with modifications to ensure safety and fairness. You can find our league handbook and rules on our website.

How long is the season?
The season length varies but typically runs for several weeks/months, including regular games and potential playoffs. Exact dates will be provided each season.

Can I join the league if I’ve never played hockey before?
Yes! We offer the Foundations Division for new players to learn the basics of the game in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Fees and Payments

How much does it cost to play in the league?
Fees vary depending on the division and season, but all costs will be outlined during registration. Payment can usually be made via credit card, check, or other options.

Jerseys

Puck Yea! Hockey Collective provides jerseys for all players. Jerseys must be returned at the end of the season in good condition. If you would like to keep your jersey, it can be purchased for a specified fee. Any jerseys not returned at the end of the season will be charged the full cost of the jersey. Please ensure your jersey is returned to avoid additional charges.

Safety and Health

What safety measures are in place?
Player safety is our top priority. We require protective gear, and all games are officiated by certified referees.

Are there any medical requirements or waivers?
All players are required to sign a waiver before participating. If you have any medical concerns or conditions, please notify league organizers, and we will work with you to ensure a safe experience.

Community and Support

How can I meet other players and get involved?
We plan to host regular social events activities for players to meet and connect. You can also join online groups or forums to stay connected and find practice partners.

Is there a mentoring or coaching program available?
Yes, we offer coaching for all skill levels. Players in higher divisions may also act as mentors for newer players, fostering a supportive learning environment.
